Pit Orchestras..

Both the vaunted Pittsburgh and Philadelphia Orchestras will be honing their skills as soundtrack purveyors this summer at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia.  Last year's Pittsburgh Symphony concert was a critical success but only 2,500 people attended.  When the PSO played movie music the next night, three to four times the number of people bought tickets.  Is this the fate of symphony orchestras in the US?  See here:
